Finished Projects

Finished projects are ALWAYS a good thing!
This is the quilt I have been labouring away on the last few weeks, the top is done and delivered to the quilt shop to be hung as a class sample. I will be teaching it in late March.

Buggy Barn Painted Daisies @ Seams Easy

As well, a friend and I answered the shout out from the Special Olympics to make scarves in hopes that there would be enough for every athlete and coach participating in Winter games in St Alberta at the end of February. I made the striped one with the fringe, she made the other two. I hope they meet their goal!

I recently joined our local art club "Peace of Art" and now that the Buggy Barn is done I am working on a few pieces to enter in the winter art show being held for the month of February. Really excited as this is a first for me! I will post pics later in the week!

Thanks for visiting!

Slowly but surely

I am progressing on the Buggy Barn class sample, 20/30 blocks completed, hope to have the top done by the end of this week!

Have my newest art girl started

I moved from the south central interior of British Columbia to northern Alberta just about 10 years ago now, but being a BC girl born and raised I have a really tough time seeing the beauty of the prairie, but..........I do love the winter morning skies that look like this from my kitchen window.

Hore frost is probably my next favourite thing, some beauty in the infinitely long, dark winters!

I do dream daily about the day I can retire back to BC!!! Less than the 10 years we have been here, so more than half way there now!

Thanks, as always, for visiting!

Quilts, Quilts, Quilts

A bit delayed, but as promised here are the quilts I have been working on:

This a baby quilt for my daughter's friend's newest little one, it is based on Carla's tutorial on wonky blocks with the tri rec ruler set, fun and easy to do!

This is the label, mama is Canadian and dad is an Aussie.

This is my Twister quilt with the L'il Twister border partially completed. This is a suprise gift for a special friend, but it is on hold as I work on the one pictured below

This the class sample for the class I am teaching in March,
Buggy Barn Painted Daisy from the Positively Crazy book.

Completed but not squared blocks

The remaining 28 blocks waiting their turn!

Winter has finally arrived here in northern Albert, with -16C temps and a -25C windchill, good day to stay in a quilt!
And dream of the much anticipated winter holiday in.......let me see.............42 more sleeps! 6 weeks today we will be on our way to Chile!!!

Happy New Year!!

I am hoping 2012 finds you happy, healthy and eager to see what this year holds for you.

For hubby and I, we are eagerly anticipating our trip to Chile at the end of February, 53 sleeps, but who's counting??? Can't wait to bring back lots of great photos to share with you.

Now that Christmas has passed and gifts have been given and received, I can share with you what I created for my dear friends and family.

A dear friend has been wanting me to do a girl art of her, her daughter and Mom, so this is my whimsical interpretation of them!

More Christmas angel girls for my hairdresser and my friend who owns the Quilt shop in town.

The next three were gifts for my greatest supporters, my sisters

I have been busy since New Years eve working on quilt projects that I will share later this week!
