Finishes for Q2 FAL

My one and only finish for this quarter FAL, no excuses other than lots of other things occupying my time and quilting just got set aside.
I had originally posted here about what I hoped to get done this quarter.

I just need to get my act together and find the address, but this one is going to Quilt's for Calgary, for victims of the recent floods.

Lots of progress on this one, it is now all sandwiched and ready to get quilting on.

No progress at all on this one, not quite sure why.

You will be seeing these two again next week when I post next quarter's list! I WILL get them done!

Yes, I publicly admit it, I am addicted to Downton Abbey! I watched all three seasons in the 8 weeks that my hubby was away at school, and now must wait impatiently for season four.

BUT, I use it to support another addiction! I sew hexies as I watch............

Weeks 31, 33 and 34.

Katja mentioned that she would like my quilt for her display in August, so production has been ramped up.
Not only do I have to finish 18 more blocks...............
But I have to assemble the top and get all the paper out!

This is by no means the final layout, but I like looking at what I have done so far.

The gel nails is just purely a vain addiction, I love the way they look and feel and how strong they are. They are hard working, hexie assembling hands, they deserve a treat!
I love to change up the colours and designs each time I have them done, another creative outlet! These were done to match the dress I am wearing to my bestie's wedding on Saturday.

The newest addition to our home gym is not destined to be any kind of addiction I am afraid. After 7 months of diet and exercise and 30 pounds lost, I have come to realize that exercise will always be something I HAVE to do, not something I love to do or could ever become addicted to.
We have added the elliptical purely because I am bored to death of the treadmill!

It is pouring rain here today so I am excused from weeding the flower beds.
It will be a day of creative pursuits instead! Yeah!

Getting back to working on my hexies, can I finish by the end of August, one year from my start??

Week 30, 32 done, 31 waiting to go, and I have started basting my connecting triangles.
That leaves about 2 a week, to reach my goal.

Can't believe it took me until this week to find author of Pieced Hexies, Mickey Depre's blog!!

Finish Along

Here is my first finish for the second quarter Finish Along
It is a kit from a shop on the Las Vegas quilt shop hop.
Not my favourite quilt (hate those waffly borders!) but it is done and someone will like it and at some point it will find a home.

My June calendar page, I felt I needed to recognize the fact that I live in the land of the midnight sun!
Still needs a photo of my June birthday girl and we have had SO much rain, I am thinking a family of ducks!!!

No more Finish along progress because I have been working away, trying to finish the scrapbook from our 2012 trip to Chile. I only have three days left to document so hopefully it will be done this month too!

I was to have a cycling date with my fellow Electra riding friend today but again it rains! So somewhat sadly I will stay inside and play then go meet her for coffee instead.

Linking up with Cindy for Really Random Thursday

Bike Club

What we have here I think, is the beginnings of a Peace River Electra bike club!
My friend just bought the lovely and fun "Sugar Skulls" edition!

She has not been on a bike since she was 17!

Have nothing creative to show again this post, but here is where my creative time has been the last few weeks, between cloud bursts!
It is just starting to bloom, will post more pics of it in it's full glory.

I had a bridal shower last night for my bestie and friends made these beauties for us!

I am really, really tired of these little beasts and the fact that they are the topic of conversation every where you go!!!
I did end up with a few in my back yard as one of the neighbour's trees is infested, but thankfully they are finally starting to cocoon and the grossness with soon be over!!!

My spring cleaning is done, having a garage sale next weekend, then I plan to be back in full on creative mode!
Have a great week!

Caterpillar, Caterpillar

Caterpillar, caterpillar, crawl, crawl, crawl;
Don’t fall off the garden wall.
Caterpillar, caterpillar, eat, eat, eat;
Grow so fat on your furry feet.
Caterpillar, caterpillar, rest, rest, rest;
Soon you’ll change to be the best.
Caterpillar, caterpillar, try, try, try;
One day you’ll be the best butterfly.
C Richard Miler
Yesterday was hubby's birthday, and the bike he got for Christmas/birthday finally arrived!

Won't we be the pair riding around town!
Downside of all the rain is we can't ride them down to the coffee shop this morning!
