Adventures above the 60th Parallel

I will lovingly call this the waterfall tour!

I was thrilled to see this sign and cross that line! I have never been further north than about 100km from Peace River.

Waterfall one, Alexandra, on the Hay River
This one was at the Twin Falls stop, but we were on the move and didn`t want to hike up to the second one. We caught that one on the way home, so you will see that one in another post

Waterfall two, McNallie Creek

Waterfall three, and my favourite one on this part of the trip, Lady Evelyn, on the Kakisa River

I think fishing is the main past time above the 60th, to the point where you can get a helicopter to bring you to your own little sand bar!
Sorry if this is blurry but sadly my SLR camera got dropped at the border crossing and the lens focus stopped working.

A quick stop in Hay River to check out the purple school and try to find the Saturday market with fish and chips. Sadly due to a problem with the trailer at the start of the day, we missed it by half and hour!

Our overnight stop that night was at the beautiful Fort Providence Territorial Park on the Mackenzie River.
We were so impressed by all their parks, overnight and day use, all beautifully maintained

Hexies 42, 43, and 44 completed over the course of the trip and proudly posing on the Canadian Shield!

41 was finished just before we left.

More on this awesome trip later in the week!

  3. Looks like a grand trip! Your hexies are stunning as usual. I must get back to mine sooner rather than later. I just have too many hexie UFOs...
