Summer Quilting

We have been having some absolutely gorgeous weather of late so not much quilting progress.
I do have yoyos made (these are not sewn down yet) but realized I only counted enough for one tree!! and the yellow ones don't work on the yellow background. The weather has cooled a bit so I can stand to play with fabric so I will make more this evening

Progress on the baby quilts, can't wait to try some new to me quilting design in the wide open spaces.

This big painting project looms over me, but it will just be for cooler days. We are also getting to ready do roofing AND have a garage sale. Once these three big projects are out of the way I will be free to quilt and make some art!

We live above the 54th parallel so summer solstice is a big deal here.
The first photo was at 11 p.m on June 21 and the second was at midnight, that street light had just come on.

The weather was so fine this weekend, we dropped the chores and headed out for the first paddle of the summer.

Lakes are swampy here, but what a glorious day!

Work in Progress Wednesday

I am slowly working at some projects, but the head cold sure slowed me down!
Sunday Drive is all trimmed and the binding is cut.

I did manage to make these during my sickness downtime, yes, they are the size of a dime.
They are going to be the "flowers" on the tree branches you see on the middle right of Sunday Drive.

This is my favourite time of year in my flowerbeds, so much is blooming!

Here is the third and possibly my favourite baby sack set. Babies don't stop coming so I just can't stop making them! I do force myself to make yoyo's and sew hexie rows together in between.

Guild Windup BBQ

Thank goodness the sun cooperated, for the last few weeks it has rained every day at dinner time!

Hope you enjoy the show and tell

My current works in progress

Baby quilts (x2) from a free pattern at Moda Bakeshop

This beauty needs some yoyo flowers and buttons on the trees and to be trimmed and bound.
I am down with a head cold so maybe some yoyo making while watching movies on the couch is in order today.

The Dog Ate My Homework or Why I Am Not Quilting

It is finally spring here and with spring comes our annual pulp mill maintenance shut down. What that means in our house is that hubby works two weeks straight of 12 hours days.
It also means it is time for my annual painting marathon.
While I am not fond of the mess, I do enjoy changing things up and having things look fresh and clean.

While I have enjoyed this brown feature wall, it was looking worse for wear as dark colours quickly do.

So now it matches the rest of the room.

Again, I do like the colour of the bathroom, but it really needs freshening up. It will be this same colour so I am hoping for just one coat!

My yard is finally starting to bloom, AND I had a hummingbird at my petunias yesterday! I have never seen one this far north, but now friends tell me it just takes the right kind of flowers.

I do sit and do hand work in the evenings still so I have finished this baby sack set.

And the binding is on my Stash Buster, my goal is to have it finished for our guild meeting next week.
A block that did not turn out the correct size has become the label.
