Work in Progress Wednesday

Once again life trumps blog......but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on "stuff"!

Here are my mini Weasley sweaters. I am hoping to make 8-12 all together and will donate them to our local library to help decorate their entry in the Festival of Trees. I can generally complete one per evening, but Ron's initial didn't quite get completed last night. I had to add something to relate their size to, they are pretty tiny!

Also recently completed this fun hat, I love colourwork!

THIS long time (4 years I think) WIP, is nearing completion! I just got it back from my lovely quilter Carole on Saturday. Just needs it's binding and label to be ready to hang in our quilt show next month.
This is from Katja's original Block-Athon before her book was published. It isn't even on her site anymore! The blocks are English Paper Pieced by Hand.

As well, this lovely loon just needs it's label stitched down. It will also hang in the quilt show as part of our guild's boreal forest project. After the show they will be donated to the library's children's section. The pattern was taken from a portion of "A Day at the Lake" applique quilt. Also a pattern I don't think is available any more.

And my most active WIP at the moment is my "Oh Canada" quilt. My goal is the have it all pieced by year's end. Have not yet decided whether I will quilt is myself as I think it is going to be quite large.
This is just a sampling of the 15 of the blocks made so far. Need 9 more and a few more colour ways.

Sorry the photo is not better quality but it was a dull grey morning this morning.

Thanks as always for visiting and I enjoy comments!

  1. Great loon quilt. We often hear them across the lake and thru the woods at our fav campground but they can be hard to spot. Good luck with all your pretties at the quilt show!

  2. Ahh - finishes. Don't you just love them. I also love the Weasley sweaters - your library is lucky!

  3. Just read Carole's blog and saw your lovely (and hand stitched!) quilt and wanted to come by and say Congrats on the finish. It's just stunning! So many other yummies here, too!

  4. What a lovely variety of projects you are showing. Your Oh Canada quilt blocks are stunning - love the loon too.
